IBC 2013 Preview – Matthews Studio Equipment To Introduce Media Tools
On any set, it’s now quite common to see filmmakers using their own personal laptops to help streamline complex workflows. To capitalize on this trend, Matthews Studio Equipment, developers of specialized production support, will introduce their newest product, Media Tools, at this next month’s IBC conference in Amsterdam. “Today, everyone on a production whether it’s a major motion picture, an intimate documentary or corporate production, uses their laptops, iPads, and other electronic devices to assist them to do their jobs faster and more efficiently,” says Robert Kulesh, Vice President of Sales and Advertising for Matthews Studio Equipment. “Up until now, crews have Gerry-rigged a variety of support devices to keep their equipment close at hand.”
With Media Tools, filmmakers, editors, D.I.T.s, etc. can have easy access to their electronic devices with MSE’s new Media Tray, which can handle media devices using industry standard tools. It will be able to hold laptops, as well as other devices on a 10.5” by 16.5” tray, which contains standard 3/8″ female thread on the bottom, a removable 5/8” (baby) adapter for mounting to light stands or a wide selection of industry hardware. The tray weighs only 2-lbs. and can accept payloads up to 35-lbs. It also has a pattern of air slots to keep your devices from overheating.
Media Tools, and other MSE products can be seen at IBC 2013, Booth 11 G71, Amsterdam, September 12th thru 17th 2013.
