Redrock Micro launches enhanced support rigs with new rig components

Even though a lot of people think operating a DSLR or small video camera is kid stuff, without proper support gear, even a Canon 5D Mark III can start to feel like a cannon ball if you’re shooting all day. Redrock Micro announces new enhanced camera support rigs that will make a camera operator’s job much easier. These new improvements will now come standard on all Redrock rigs and are also available as upgrades to existing customers.

New microShoulderPad with FieldTech Molds to Shape of Shoulder

Redrock has redesigned the camera shoulder pad to improve both comfort and balance. The new microShoulderPad uses Cordura® and breathable 3D mesh and is filled with soft microPoly beads that adapt to the operator’s shoulder. The microShoulderPad should give you better alignment and stability for your shots, as well as more comfort and support.

microBalance QR – Tool-less Counterweights and Battery Mount

Adding sophistication to Redrock’s microBalance weights, the new microBalance QR rig counterweight speeds rig balance and stability with new features. Weights can be added or removed with the touch of a button and without tools. Barry mounting patterns on each weight enable your standard Anton Bauer, Switronix, etc. batteries to be attached on to the microBalance QR, enabling a quick release of the battery mount. microBalance QR can be set up horizontally or vertically and can be adjusted for left-right balance in vertical setup.

Better Handgrips

Redrock’s rig hand grips have been updated with a new diamond pattern that reduces potential moisture build-up and a softer, more comfortable grip. The new grips also have a double-lock on each grip and an additional option for adding mounting points or rig extensions. A popular use of this feature is attaching the microRemote fingerwheel to the grip when grips are inverted, such as on the ManCam rig.
